STATUS OF AUTOMATION AND NETWORKING AMONG THE COLLEGE LIBRARIES AFFILIATED TO BHARATHIAR UNIVERSITY

The automation in libraries has changed day to day activities, storage and retrieval techniques save the time of both user and library personal. The objectives of this study are to identify the status of automation through findings of a survey. Out of 120college libraries which were affiliated to Bharathiar University
selected for this study. This study tries to analyze the status of library automation , availability of suitable library automation software and network facilities available in college libraries affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. It was found that 92 college libraries computerized and using different
types of software. Only 2 libraries out of 92 implemented RFID technology. Only 40.2% of the libraries having web online public access catalogue facility and only25% of the libraries would like to share their resources
through networking.

PUBLICATION PRODUCTIVITY OF BHARATHIAR UNIVERSITY, TAMIL NADU: A BIBLIOMETRIC STUDIES

Scopus is one of the largest abstract and citation database of peer – reviewed literature. Bharathiar university is one of the leading universities in Tamilnadu. The present study explores the research productivity of Bharathiar University based on the data collected from scopus over a period of eleven years from 2006 to 2016 and included a total of 4265 publications. The shedy also identities the annual growth of publications, authorship pattern, document wise distribution and most prolitic journals. The result indicates that majority of the research outputs are published in the scholarly journals and the result reveals that the publications are do not fit into Brahdford’s law of scatterings

SCIENTOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF RESEARCH WORK DONE ON EMPLOYABILITY

This paper presents a Scientometric Analysis of research work done on the emerging area of ‘ Employability ’ during the recent years.Research on ‘Employability” is one of the emerging areas of the research not only in social science but also in Engineering and Technology also We have analyzed the research output data on ‘Employability ’ during 1989–2017 indexed in the Web of science .The analysis maps comprehensively the parameters of total output, growth of output, authorship and country-level collaboration patterns, major contributors (countries, institutions and individuals) and top publication sources.

AN ANALYSIS OF RESEARCHGATE MEMBERSHIPS AND PUBLICATIONS OF STATE UNIVERSITIES IN INDIA

This paper examines the ResearchGate memberships and research contributions of State Universities in India. The data for the study have been extracted from ResearchGate website (www.researchgate.net) December 2017. 370 State Universities have been established by 29 States in India. Out of 370 Universities, the 98 State Universities were inactive in ResearchGate. Further the data were analyzed to find out the membership and publications of the Universities in ResearchGate. The Universities were classified into four zones like by North Zone, East Zone, West Zone and South Zone based on the location of the Universities. The result of the study clearly indicates that more number of research contributions were made by the 98 Universities located in South zone with 27811 members with 44325 publications and the Universities located in West Zone were contributed less with 13708 members and 17609 publications in ResearchGate.

Attitude towards Digital / Library Institutional Repository among College Librarians of NAAC Accredited Institutions

Digital Library / Institutional Repositories (IRs) are established mainly to provide access to information resources which are otherwise not easily accessible in digital format. Many institutions across the world and particularly in India have successfully developed their own IRs but have not attempted to assess their importance and impact on the Users. The present study aims to find out the attitude towards Digital Library/Institutional Repository among Library and Information Science Professionals of NAAC Accredited Institutions.

YOGA THERAPY: A SCIENTOMETRICS ANALYSIS

Yoga is a 5000-year-old Indian body of knowledge . The science of Yoga imbibes the complete essence of the Way of Life. The study examined Yoga Therapy research performance during 1989-2017 by conducing scientometric analysis of collected data has been extracted from Scopus database. The study mainly focused the year wise publication, Authorship pattern, Country-wise publication and language wise publication. The study found that It was noted that highest number of publications were published in the year 2017 and most of research outcomes were in English Language.
